Detection of Windows 2008

Postby H4nd0 » Thu Jan 03, 2008 3:27 pm

Does 7.06 support detection of Windows Server 2008 (via Get System Setting). If not when can we expect this to be implemented?

Erm, we don't have an IA 7.06...where did you come up with that version number?

You should expect availability upon release of Server 2008 (and Vista Service Pack 1).

OK thanks ... the last build I was running was numbered internally 7.06 (when I checked the EXE version strings). I see 7.5 is out in the last week. Is there anyway to be notified of updates rather than me having to revisit the website?

The web update client will notify you.

I'm curious - which .exe had the .06 version string?

If you right click on the installer EXE (InstallAware_7_With_Runtimes.exe) and choose properties it is reported as 7.0.6000.2007 in the Details section.

7.5 is reported as 7.5.6001.2008. So I daresay I am misreading the versioning. However, the version numbers of the June and November EXEs of 7.01 are identical but the SHA1 sum is different between EXEs. 6.42 was numbered 6.42.3797.2007.

Perhaps you could enlighten me on how I should read these so I can differentiate IA product installers.

I don't use the web update client (and infrequently use the GUI since our builds are fully automated). How about an RSS feed which I can track independently?
