Clean exit of Automatic Updates Wizard

Postby karol » Thu Jan 24, 2008 9:38 am

Hello,

I have a question concerning Automatic Updates Wizard but couldn't find any answer on the forum.

I'm developing a software that sometimes forces shutdown of the computer on which it is installed. The problem occurs when user installs the application and reboots the computer - this way AU wizard appears in tray. When a shutdown is performed before user configures automatic updates the wizard reports an 'access violation' when being closed by the system.

There's name of the software in the error message and my customer is not very happy with that. Is there a way to make the wizard exit cleanly?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Karol

Try using this just before the reboot command;

Code: Select all

  Delete Registry VALUE HKCU\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Run\\$TITLE$ Update Setup
  Delete Registry VALUE HKCU\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Run\\$TITLE$ Update Setup for All Users
