I have an installer that installs program files and data files. I have creaded a patch to update the program files without effecting data files. Now when I try to uninstall the app via Programs and Features (vista) the program files are removed, but the data files remain.
My strategy is to provide minor updates for the program files, and ocasionally a major update to uninstall and reinstall the whole application. Is this approach possible with InstallAware?

Patched application does not remove itself fully
Hi dawidp,
were the data files available when you built the patch?
My understanding is that the installer has to be set up as if you wanted to make a full setup. And it detects the differences itself. Differences would only be found in the program files in your case.
In addition, did you read the white paper on patching?
