Changes to final?

Postby ecold » Wed Dec 07, 2005 11:32 am

Is this just bug fixes or is there anything new?

Update issues.

Postby ecold » Wed Dec 07, 2005 1:29 pm

It would appear that installing the update, removes any existing projects. That really hurts. So, I tried to import my Group Policy msi file I made, I get this nice error message that says: " is not a valid integer value.
Then, it fails.
Am I going to have to start from scratch to redo my project that has taken me 50 or so hours to get almost right?

What little does come through

When clicking the sections of the interface of what little was pulled in by the import, I get that popup again when I click the Registry button. Just FYI.
I'm feeling really sick right now.

The update does not remove any of your projects, that would be ridiculous!
Where had you saved your files?

Also, which file did you import, and where do you get errors with the imported file?

I have the compiled files but not the project mpr

Postby ecold » Thu Dec 08, 2005 8:36 am

I had saved it where the final installable was or at least a few directories above it and it's not there. I have searched my whole computer and network shares just in case I put it somewhere else and it's not there.
I have a single file .exe that was created. It doesn't seem to import those. I had used the Group Policy Wizard to make an msi from the single exe and imported it. It is the one that is erroring out. When I went to open it just now, I got the same error " is not a valid integer value.
If I navigate through the UI, I get the error when i click the registry button.

I found an older version of it

Postby ecold » Thu Dec 08, 2005 8:47 am

It was in a different project folder on a network share. I had to go to the admin share and search in order for it to show up. That doesn't make sens but, I'll I care is I got it back.
There still may be a bug in the import however but right now, I'm not worried about it. Sorry for the scare but it's not where it should have been and then I couldn't find it on any drive searches.

I'm glad it wasn't a complete waste of time, typing and reading for us both. Glad I could contribute something.
