Problem with Item selection when Modifying Installs

I have just made a slight modification to the Select Type system. in our case, we have 2 main application options for the installation. both of which select different features from the install.

Added additional sections in the code to Select/Deselect the components.

This works fin on the install, but when I go to modify the install (click change from the add remove programs.

The features selected are the default ones for the installation, not the ones that were actually installed.

Is there a way to get this to show the current features?

I have also noticed that when I go into the modify option, and select the same options as the original install, I am getting a space requirements of about -50 MB.

I have a feeling that this is due to a number of files that I have placed Outside of any features, i.e Feature Independent. As these files are ALWAYS required. (See post on Forcing Features to be selected).

When I then click the modify, it seems to uninstall all of these Feature independent files.

Any Ideas? What would be the best way to set this up?

I would place the independent features before any Get Component State commands. This way they will be associated with the "featureless" feature in the size calculations, and so on.

As for the other problem (not remembering feature selection states)...please rebuild with the latest final beta and try again (051207)
