Please help.
I just upgraded to IA 10 and am now having a problem with some of my dialogs. Specifically, my progress dialog, my features dialog, and other dialogs (though not all of them) are displaying some of the text in an asian language. An example, on the Features dialog under the Feature Description frame, it says:
Required: 12, 709 Dang do tim thong
Remaining Disk Space: 21, 838 Pham vi chap nhan
However, the instructions are in English:
Click on an icon in the list below to change how a feature is installed.
Important: It appears that the text that is dynamically generated is in the Asian language, but the static labels are in English. So, the labels that are in Asian are:
- Progress text
- Disk space text (features dialog and destination folder dialog)
- File installing text (file names are English, but there is trailing text in the Asian language)
Both my building platform and my test platform have never been in any language other than English (United States) and have always been set for the Eastern Time Zone.
Also, on the Features dialog, when you click on the feature dropdown, on the popup menu, only the icons are displayed.
Please let me know if you need more information.
Thank you
Ken

Was this project previously authored in IA 9?
What version is displaying for you now?

Yes, the project was authored in IA 9 R2. This is the version that is now showing at startup, even though I have 10 installed and have running the new licensing app (no errors).
Re: Wrong Language on Parts of Dialogs in IA 10
It sounds like you installed your old license over the new version of InstallAware.
At:
http://www.installaware.com/myinstallaware
Regenerate your license, download and install that and let us know what happens.

Re: Wrong Language on Parts of Dialogs in IA 10
Hi Andy:
I installed the new license and the language issue has disappeared and I'm getting the correct version in the IA About dialog. Thank you very much.
However, am now getting the following error message building my project and when running the Group Policy wizard:
The build proceeds and actually creates a correctly working setup app. Do you know of any open issues regarding this problem?
Thanks
Ken

Is this uxtheme.dll issue being seen on any OS other than Win 7 x64?
What is the version for uxtheme.dll in C:\Windows\System32 for anyone seeing this?

Hi, Mills
Thank you for replaying
License...? I downloaded a trial version.
After downloading it, I received an e-mail tells me a password to install InstallAware to evaluate.
When I run it, a dialog box "InstallAware Evaluation : Thank You for Trying InstallAware"
and an error message appears (A "Next" button on the dialog box is invisible (just a white box)).
Is this the answer of your question?
Re: Wrong Language on Parts of Dialogs in IA 10
Yes, that answers the question. So, you installed it. Then, when you try to run it, you get the uxtheme.dll Access Violation error?
The screen you describe sounds like the first screen that appears in the trial mode:
Are you able to get past that?
---
Aside, I have been able to reproduce an access violation error:
Access violation at address 74745A60 in module 'uxtheme.dll'. Read of address 00000007.
I wonder why the read address differs for my case from other reports. In any case, I was able to reproduce this (on IA 10.0.1) by attempting to edit control behavior in the dialog editor. I did get another error at address 00000001 by trying to run the Group Policy Wizard.
I'll notify our developers.

Re: Wrong Language on Parts of Dialogs in IA 10
Mills,
I saw the dialog box "trialMode.png" in your post. But it is a dead-end (I cannot click "Next" button).
I hope you show a solution of this problem soon (I have to decide which installer program is used. I'm sort of in hurry).
And I worry about trial period.
- Is trial period decreasing already?
- When I re-install it, trial period is reset?
Thank you

Re: Wrong Language on Parts of Dialogs in IA 10
We have a fix for at least the problems I've seen related to this. We're hoping one of you can try it out to see if it fixes the problems running IA or building setups.
In the attached 7zip, you can place the files in your InstallAware setup like:
\InstallAware\InstallAware 10\interop\miaui.exe
\InstallAware\InstallAware 10\group policy\pgplwiz.exe
If, after replacing those files, you still get the uxtheme.dll access error, please verify whether disabling Aero themes provides a work-around. You can check whether you have an Aero theme enabled, by:
Right-click desktop.
Click Personalize.
In the themes, you should see Aero Themes and below it, Basic and High Contrast Themes. Choose one of these (Basic recommended).
Test InstallAware again.
Shingo, you will have the 30 days from installation for your trial.
