What we would like to happen is that every time a user starts our application, a check is made to see if there is an update available, and to provide the user with the option to update or skip.
The only one of the 3 options defined as Monitor URL, is the first: 'automatic updates'. However, it isn't clear as to what 'setup' refers to. It doesn't sound like it means our installed app, but if not, what is it?
In addition, the fact that it silently updates without giving the user a chance to say 'not now', would not be appreciated.

Auto-update - what does 'every time setup is run' mean?

Dear John,
I suggest you to have a look at "Web Update" functionality within the InstallAware documentation ... it describes in details how the feature works.
This is a different approach and in this case, it is from your application that you should run the verification and anyway, you could call an update verification shortcut to do it.
