Opening a port on Windows Firewall

Postby BackDream » Fri May 12, 2006 9:40 am

Has anybody had experience at this? I need my installer to open a port on the Windows Firewall... I'm installing a service application that listens on port XXXX so I need port XXXX to be opened.

Any advice?

Try to discover if this is a registry setting with PackageAware?

As soon as the service is started, the user will be prompted by the firewall to interact with the process trying to open the port..You simply have to warn them, to click on the "Keep unblocking" button.
