Forcing a component to be selected

Is it possible to force a component to be selected in the UI. In order to update existing users (who’s programs were installed with a non-msi program), we have to force the install of some components. I know we can override the users choices in the script, but it would be nice if we could indicate on the component selection screen what is going to happen.

Sorry, the only way currently is by using Set Component State.
