Postby binkle » Fri Sep 29, 2006 8:20 am

Hi,
when I complie my IA project using the commendline complier (miabuild) I get a different setup behavior in opposite to compiling with the IDE.

Why can this be?

Are you specifying the same values for compiler variables as in the IDE?

Yes I do,
I use only one variable, a path variable, which is the same, otherwise it would not find the files.

More specific:
When I compile with the IDE and start this setup on a Pc where the same version is already installed it tells me I have to deinstall the privious version and starts to deinstall it. But it shows the form (step) for installing. After this the next step shows the same form but now it installs.
Using the commandline build on the same PC it first deinstalls the existing version with the correct forms then finishes. Then I have to start setup again to invoke the install. This time a "run ... as" command at the end of the setup does fail every time.
This command does not fail when the setup was compiled with the IDE.
I can sent you both setups (each 4MB, or give a download link), if you like to. But you need to run them on a windows server with exchange to see the exfect of the "Run ... as" command.

Harald,

have you used the /r parameter to create a new revision code for your command line build?
If not - please give it a try.
