Localization Process Issue with Japanses, Chinese and Others

Postby rajeshjeet » Fri Oct 06, 2006 6:04 am

Hi IA Support,

What I am having trouble with today is the localization process.
My requirement is to support Chinese and Chinese PRC, japanses, and Korean languages apart from others.

System Details:
I have Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages selected in the regional settings (control panel).
I am using WinXP_Pro with SP2 and other latest updates. All the above languages are displayed properly when I use Notepad, MS-Word and other similar tools. I tried to save this files with both Unicode and ANSI formats but still I am able to see the converted text properly.

Here is the task I did:
1. Create a simple install package which has to support Chinese (PRC), Japanese and Korean languages. Which has only one dialog box in it for test.

2. Followed the steps given in the help as (export - localize it and import it). I even used option under Tools edit global strings to localize the string; But I am always getting ?????????? after puts the localized string.

3. Kindly some will let me know why is this happening and what is the resolution of it.

4. Kindly do let me know the steps also so that I can get ride of the problem.

Thanks in advance.

You must be entering text as unicode. Enter text as ANSI or double byte character set only.
