Setting EXE Elevated Privs Under Vista

Postby H4nd0 » Mon Nov 13, 2006 9:50 am

Vista UAC normally prohibits applications running with elevated privs. However, if you right click on an EXE you can force the EXE to run with elevated privs:

1. Right click on the executable and choose Properties.
2. Locate the Compatibility tab.
3. Look for the Privilege Level section and check "Run this program as an administrator"

How can I set this attribute in InstallAware?

I believe this is a resource you have to embed into your EXE file, just like an XP manifest for using new visual styles.
