Patch Building for Beginners

I am trying to keep the "upgrade" code the same in the original install and in a patch, but, I cannot for the life of me, find where the upgrade code is in the gui (version 6.3) Could some one please guide me?

Also, I wish to build a patch that will install into the Program Files on Vista when run by ordinary users. If I sign the original install and the patch, will Installaware take care of the messy details that are necessary for this to happen? Or, do I need to do something else? If so what and how?
