Glass Clipping Region

Postby SteveX » Mon Apr 23, 2007 7:50 am

It would be nice to have a clipping region -no glass effect within the glass region.

Glass Effect

Postby SteveX » Mon Apr 23, 2007 1:45 pm

I've tried it several ways. Using the Alpha theme, things get kind of weird. It doesn't seem to matter what possition settings you use for Glass (Sheet of Glass turned Off) all Text blocks use the glass effect and panels disappear. Nothing else has the effect, but it look pretty strange with several area's cotaing glass (not the desired ones) and others not.

Found a couple of other little quirks in 6.5.

The build windows looses focus and just disappears while it is still active. You have click on the icon in the staus bar fo it to reappear. This has happed to me everytime on large projects (50 MB compressed).

Doing a Single EXE build with Debug checked, only the uncompressed version is built. I'm new to InstallAware, so maybe this considered a bug in the last release?

What's kind of cool, you do get somewhat of a glass effect on Vista Basic.

Another plus I noticed are my build times are faster when compressing some very large DB files.

Hi Steve,

I'm afraid it may not be technically possible to create clipping regions, the way Vista's API's are structured at present.

For the single exe build - this is normal with the debug flag. Do not try to use debug built setups outside of the IDE at all, they won't function.
