Yet another web update (detailed guide)?

Hi,

1 .I have just created my first setup in IA and that went fine (version 1.2 of my software).

2. I copied my original setup to a new location.
I checked the 'check for updates' and gave it a path to a web page that would contain the updates.

3. I then went to the files part of the project and deleted all files except for the .EXE (which I would like to be the only thing updated)

4. Next I proceeded to create a patch by selecting new in the patch section of the project and browsed to my original setup file.

5. Pressed Build Patch.

6. Then I went to the Upgrades part of IA and pressed New.
Filled out the information needed.
Went to the Version part of IA and pressed Add and typed in 1.2

7. Selected Project->Build Patch and it created a small setup file and an updates.ini file.

8. Opened up IIS on my web server and created a new virtual directory to hold my updates. Added a mime type for ini files: .ini and plain/text.

9. Finally I uploaded the new setup file and the updates.ini file to my web space (the one defined in the Project Properties and created in IIS)

10. Installed my original setup.

11. After a restart I get the update scheduler and set it to receive updates everyday starting 5 minutes from now and set it to notify me of updates and notify before installing.
Press Finish (thinking it would immediately check for updates) and nothing happens.

5 minutes later nothing happens.

Am I misunderstanding this whole process or is there something that I'm just missing from the process?
