Error installing sql 2005

The installshield i'm building shoud redistribute sql express 2005 now the following error occurs on different types of operating systems. while installing sql express 2005 it will return an error :

SQL Server Express 2005 could not be installed. Please use Windows Update to manually install this update on your system.

this problem only occurs on machines without .NET 2.0 installed when i manualy install .NET 2.0 before running my installshield everyting works fine.

what i noticed .NET 2.0 is checked as requirement for sql 2005 but it's not installing.

i'm sorry but i'm using installaware 6.5 and not installshield

You keep saying "the installshield i'm building" so I thought you might actually be using InstallShield instead of InstallAware

You should find out what the .NET 2.0 installation step returns in MSIcode script - error, warning, reboot request?
