Support for 64bit OS

Postby grego » Tue Apr 03, 2007 10:36 pm

Hi,
I just found an issue witht he latest version of installaware. I ran a test on Windows XP 64bit and the setup depends on .NET 2.0. Well the plug in files are for 32bit not 64 bit so it failed.

Can you be more specific; how does your installer depend on .NET? Are you plugins / actions written in .NET?

Do you mean you are using a .NET 2 prerequisite installation?

Sorry my application which is being installed requires .NET version to so I checked this under application runtimes. What I then found is if I install the package under WIndows xp 64 the .net fails to install and the installer generates a error saying failed please use windows update.

I would have liked it to download a 64bit version of .NET 2.0 (I using web blocks) because it may be able to detect a 64bit OS

I have found the same issue with Win Server 2003 x64. (It also complains about MSXML 6.0 not supporting that processor type). Has there been any resolution this this problem?
