Hello,
I'm trying to reduce the install size to a minimum. I have 1 file that is 100k in size, so I was hoping for an install that would be no more than 200k to 300k. But, it came up to 1.1M (single file, compressed).
I assume all the extra size is the WindowsInstaller 3.0 package that is bundled into the .exe, in case it is absent from the users machine.
Question: can IA allow me to cut out the Windows Installer from my install and only download it if it is missing on the users machine?

Min size installs
Of course you can, if you build it as Web Media, the Windows installer will be a different Web Media Block, excluded from the redistributable .exe

Min size install
I did what you suggested (windows installer as a separate web media block). The install is still 1.2 Mbytes, and contains only a single 100kb file.
Here is the directory listing:
MyApp.exe 100 KB
MySetup.exe 1,246KB
microsoft windows installer 3.0.7zip 3,507 KB
Now, the windows installer is not inside MySetup.exe, only the 100kb MyApp.exe. So, why still so big?
Thanks for your help.
