Registry key uninstall bug

Postby usro » Mon Sep 11, 2006 4:48 pm

At uninstall the setup does not remove the registry keys if the application has created subkeys which where not included in the setup.
Visual Studio uninstaller, have an option to automatically remove any subkeys.

This is not a bug. How can keys be removed if you have created subkeys inside them? You can use Delete Registry if you want to nuke keys, of course.

This is very bad, because I have to re-create all the keys which are created by the application settings in order to be removed at uninstall, instead of specifying just the parent key and then remove all the subkeys.

NO, just use the "Delete Registry" script command and mark "Delete Entire Key (and SubKeys)"
