I have InstallAware Developer edition 2005.
I need to install MDAC 2.8 and Jet Service Pack 8. I know that the MDAC refresh installs MDAC 2.8, but not Jet.
According to the MS web site, there are 4 executables for the Jet SP8 (different versions for different OSes). According to the MS documentation (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[LN];829558), "You must install MDAC after Jet 4.0 Service Pack 8 so that the files are correctly registered". The installation of Jet SP8 may require the machine to be restarted.
How do I do I go about doing this using InstallAware Developer edition?
Is there a way to set the install to "resume" on restart if the installation of Jet requires a restart?
Thanks,
Eric
Jet SP8
There is a single command you can use to restart the system and resume setup automatically after a reboot: Reboot and Resume.
As for installing Jet SP8, you can achieve this with custom scripting. I'd recommend doing it like the way most setup pre-requisites are installed. If you would like an InstallAware consultant to do this for you, please email us for a project scope and quote.
