Progress Dialog - flashing problem

Postby jweksej » Wed Feb 28, 2007 9:50 am

I need to extend this dialog with more advenced progress report than PROGRESSTEXT. This is set of additional labels and icons displayed according to some variale values.
When I do:
Display Dialog: progressDet, use as progress dialog (non-modal)
action....
Display Dialog: progressDet, use as progress dialog (non-modal)
action ....
....
then all the time only the first 'Display' content is visible.

When I added 'Hide Dialog' before every next 'Display' then dialog window is updated correctly, but the dialog flashing (Hide/Show) is very unconvienient.

Question: is there any way to redraw(update) dialog without hiding it?

You could do this using variables tied to the controls; a good example of this is the default progress dialog, which is non modal - but has a dynamically updated progress bar during the installation.

This is what I'm doing. And according to control caption value, other controls visibility is changed.
And this doesn't work. Object rules are not executed.
So let me know how execute object rules without dialog Hide/Show actions?

Don't think you can I'm afraid; as far as I know the actions excute onclick, show, and hide...

I will have a word with the Dev team and see what they say.
