hi,
for years we have been using your software for creating our software installation packages. Until now we have used your Enterprise Version 5.x. which worked perfectly all right and which we were very happy to work with.
However, as from now, we have switched to Version 6.x Studio Admin but we keep encountering problems which we would kindly ask you to solve, since we otherwise are not able to use Version 6.x. any longer and we would have to think of switching to another supplier.
The biggest problem lies in the language settings provided by you plus the corresponding language tools. Since we deliver our software and all their associated installation packages in various different languages, we are forced to translate the translation files you deliver to us. As usual we also apply this procedure with your new version, but unfortunately the texts translated within the InstallAware Translation tool are not transferred into your installer. Whenever we build a package and run the software and then press "cancel" for example, the english translation pops up. Unfortunately, this happens in all languages, which means that all translations that are carried out with InstallAware are not reproduced within the finally created installation packages. Under Version 5.x this procedure works without any problems and all packages can be generated accordingly. What we do now as a work around is create the installation packages with 6.x. and then compile and build them with 5.x. InstallAware. As a result we are not able to use the new version as planned and the version can only be used with certain restrictions, since none of the standard translations that you offer with InstallAware are transferred correctly into the final package.
The languages we need are mainly English, German, Italian, French and Slovene, etc. We do not offer language selection and therefore do not include dynamic language switching. Each package is generated individually without a language selection.
In order to solve these problems, we have also tried different systems. Wherever InstallAware is installed the packages work without any problems, but wherever the programme is not installed, the english messages pop up and the tranlsations which can be found within InstallAware Translator, independent of the language or the settings of the respective operating systems. All the tests were done under Windows XP SP2 but can also be reproduced with Vista. Under Version 5.x. it did not matter what the settings on the Operating System were, the language in which the package was generated was presented to the user no matter what. This means that also an Italian package worked under a german Operating System.
Since we urgently need the the installation packages we kindly ask you for a quick solution to this problem.
Otherwise, we are forced to stick to Version 5.x. and will then switch to another supplier, since solving this language problem is quite essential for us and we cannot accept delivering a mixture of languages to our customers.
Many thanks for your quick help!
