Hi,
As far as I know, InstallAware does not have a "Files in use" dialog (like InstallShield does).
This dialog let the user know what running applications he should close, because these application uses files that should be replaced during the setup.
Among the reasons I miss this dialog is that the .net 2.0 pre-requisite setup need to replace some dll (mscoree.dll or something like that. don't remember exacly) and if this file in being used that a reboot is needed after the .net 2.0 setup is finished.
If you install .net 2.0 from the microsoft website (a "regular" setup) it forces the user to close some applications, and that way no reboot is needed when the installation ends.
I simply don't want my user to reboot if this can be avoided.
(As you know, users don't like installations reboots at all)
And I saw the sample script (in the Sample Scripts forum) to terminate running applications, but it's really not the same like the normal and known "Files in use" dialog.
My question is - Is this feature going to be in one of the nearest InstallAware releases?
Thanks,
Oren.
