Test Installation without really installing it?

Postby Edhy » Mon Aug 01, 2005 3:07 pm

Is there a way to test the installation without really installing or modifying any file/registry in the IDE?

Not really - unless you comment out the line Apply Install, that is.

Thanks Sinan,

I will try that out. I think that would be a good Enhancement Request since it will allow us to test all the design logic without the need to test in another computer until the project is near done, and specially new users like me :D

Things that really accelerate testing are using uncompressed builds. Don't try other build types as compression will take a while - until you're near RTM.

The problem with commenting out Apply Install is that you'll never see how the installer behaves after an installation.
