Installer needs ancient data-directory

Postby marcwirtgen » Tue May 08, 2007 2:20 am

I user Installaware 6.42. When I build a new installer this is not able to uninstall the old version when the data-directory from the old installer-location on the network is already deleted.

It says "Error Zugriff auf die Netzwerkadresse \\\\server\\installerlocation\\data war nicht möglich."
Which means "Access to networkpath "..." not possible."

How ca I prevent from the need of the old install-location?

Thanx Marc

By using a compressed or web build.

I can't use the compressed or webbuild, as our installproject contains the editFile-Plugin. This one does not copy it's dll and I have to add it manually to the Installer. And I don't want to create my install-project from scratch which would fix the problem with the dll.

I don't believe there is a problem with that plug-in copying its files correctly during a build. There used to be some plug-in bugs in third party plug-ins but the latest versions of InstallAware added built-in workarounds for those. So you should just be able to rebuild your setup.
