.Net Installation Fails

I've been trying to have .Net 3.0 installed as part of my IA installation but it seems to fail with every attempt. My target machine is Windows 2003 and I have tried both compressed and uncompressed packages.

The installation fails about halfway but it is registered in the Add/Remove Program list. From the size you do notice that it is incomplete: Sometimes 15MB instead of expected +/- 58 MB on a healthy machine.

Any thoughts or something that I need to be aware of. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for the reply. I have checked and the cases does not seem to apply to my case.

Maybe I should clarify, my machine is a brand new installation of Windows 2003 (not R2) Standard with the latest patches and SP excluding IE7. Only IIS (without .Net) is installed, nothing else.

Installing .Net 3.0 manually from MS site works without any problems, however it does fail using the InstallAware built-in functionality. Attached is the error message that I got from installing using an uncompressed setup package. I have checked and the file is missing.
