Download File with Proxy Server and Port number

I have a proxy server with proxy port on another machine, I tried to download a file using it, but it seems like it goes a round Proxy without doing anything (i.e. ignoring proxy server and port number). The result is the file is downloaded even if there is proxy authentication, or even if I used incorrect port ... etc.

I'm glad you asked.

The proxy information is for InstallAware's secondary download engine. InstallAware's primary download engine uses Internet Explorer download services, which automatically detect proxy information for you. This works as long as Internet Explorer 3 (or later) is available on the target system. If not, then the secondary download engine is used, and its only then that manual proxy information is required.

Automatic proxy script recognition (PAC-FILE) from IE7-9 does not work as well as manual proxy/port (mikproxy.org / 8080)
What is the problem? Our customer needs that tool
