Installation privileges under Windows Vista Home Premium

Postby McKloony » Wed Jan 23, 2008 8:02 am

On some (not all) Windows Vista Home Premium installations, I have the problem, that during the installation process the message occurs, that the user has no privileges (or rights) to install the file xy.exe. By this problem all files with the ending *.exe are concerned. The *.exe files are compiled with VB6. If I copy the *.exe files manually into the installation folder, everything works fine. So what I do wrong?

The only thing I can think of is that Vista is preventing windows installer from installing exe files. Check that windows installer is running with the right privileges.
