Copy Local Files Problem

Postby scarlson43017 » Mon Mar 24, 2008 2:35 pm

Hello,

I am unable to get "Copy Local Files" to work. It simply appears to do nothing. I have tried with many different parameters, such as:

Copy Local Files C:\\todo.txt to C:\\todo2.txt
Copy Local Files C:\\a\\* to C:\\b
Copy Local Files C:\\a\\*.* to C:\\b
The files and directories exist and even the cases match. I have even stepped through with the debugger to validate the lines are being executed.

Am I doing something wrong?
Any suggestions for seeing why this does not work (e.g. logs, etc...)?

Thanks,

Scott

Make sure you place those lines before Apply Install.

Copy Local Files does not execute until the Apply Install command. If you need to copy files immediately before Apply Install use Call DLL and call the CopyFile Function of Kernel32.dll.

Thank you. Of course I had my "Copy Local Files" lines starting the very next line after Apply Install.

I suggest that InstallAware add this as a note to the online help for the "Copy/Move Local Files" command, as it appears multiple people have been burned by this.
