Shortcuts for All Users?

Postby gaal » Mon Apr 03, 2006 12:27 pm

Hi all,

Very simple question, and I'm sorry if it has been asked many times before.

I've done a PackageAware capture and I just can't quite fiddle with the shortcuts it caught enough so that they install into the All Users folder. It only goes into the user that it is installed as.

Is there something easy I'm missing? The SHORTCUTSALL variable doesn't seem to do the trick.

Thanks!

When you mean the variable doesn't do the trick - is the variable holding the wrong folder location, or what else is going wrong exactly?

Well, it seems to just put it in the root of Programs, and not in the folder of the program. I think I may have messed up a setting in the initial window that asks for the shortcut group.

In a perfect world, what would be the right way to make a new shortcut from scratch for all users?

Get Common Folder Location Start Menu->Programs Group into SHORTCUTFILESALL
Set Variable SHORTCUTFOLDER to $SHORTCUTFILESALL$\\$STARTMENU$
Create Shortcut $SHORTCUTFOLDER$\\MyGreatApplication to $TARGETDIR$\\MyApplication.exe
