Windows 7 64bit breaks off download

Hi,

Each time a customer uses Windows 7 64 bit, the download of pre-requisites are broken.
They can the try to continue of download it again.
Both ways have no succes.

Installation on other machines work fine.

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Is there a proxy set up on that machine? Are you referring to web media blocks?

There is no proxy, and yes there are webmediablocks used.

Are you able to manually download the block by entering the URL in a browser on that machine?

Yes I can.
It seems that there is some problem with processing the file to the harddrive.
If I wait some time the download is processed after all. But most new customers probably won't wait that long.

PS: MS SQL Server 2008 R2 is the pre-requisite (80 Mb).

It could be that there is a specific issue with that machines that causes the download to be slow - I am not sure how we can isolate this.
How many machines does this reproduce on?

Reproduce-numbers is hard to say.
If users exit installation based on this error I might never know they have this issue.
Till now there are a few.

Is there anything specific about these machines (anti-virus, network configuration)?

One of the things is that they all have a single desktop/laptop.
Firewall and AntiVirus are different (ESET, Norton, etc.)
Most of them use a wireless internetconnection.

It is very likely that this problem is caused by using these anti-viruses - could you disable them and check please?

I have a similar problem in Win2K8 R2 and the problem I'm facing is that the download always fails for all "https" downloads.
Is that your problem also?

This problem still is there.
It seems te happen mostly on 64bit Windows 7 and Vista systems.

Are your test machines running an anti-virus product?

Yes they do. NOD Eset or Avast
But they are working inside a virtual machine.
