PROGRAM DATA files

Postby alphonse777 » Mon Dec 31, 2012 12:38 pm

Hello all,
I have files that I copy into Program data...
My software needs read and WRITE to them.
I need to change their rights so that ALL USERS can write to them.
I use to do it with installshield express, but with RAD Studio Edition I cannot fond how to do it ...
I would like to avoid to make a dedicated software for this task....
Thanks a lot.
Al.

Dear User,

you could use the "Set Access Control" command for that if with IA RAD Studio Edition you have access to MSI scripting feature.
Otherwise, you should create and call a dedicated DLL or EXE for that.

I'm sorry but what you want to can't be achieved using Install Files command.

The only possibility that you have with your edition, it is to call an external component (ex; an Exe).
