Hi Support,
I'm trying to create an installer for our management UI.
Our management UI is a web application.
The directory tree that we create is as follows:
- Manage
- UIMain (Application)
- UIWebService (Application)
The Manage is a plain Virtual folder, but both UiMain and UIWebService I need to convert to Applications. I'm able to generate Appllication Pools entries for both, but for some reason can't convert them to applications.
Below are the commands I'm using:
~InstallAware Clipboard Data~
~Run Program~
~{BB7AA930-616E-428E-8859-D5E05D5AE236}~
~$WINDIR$\system32\inetsrv\appcmd.exe~
~TRUE~
~set apppool UIMain /processModel.identityType:NetworkService~
~TRUE~
~~
And
~InstallAware Clipboard Data~
~Create Virtual Folder~
~{D9F7D4E1-E989-4030-BDA7-A0890DDA1611}~
~UIMain~
~$TARGETDIR$\manage\UIMain~
~FALSE~
~TRUE~
~FALSE~
~FALSE~
~TRUE~
~TRUE~
~2|UIMain~
~1|2~
~TRUE~
~Default.aspx,Default.htm,Default.asp,index.htm~
~~
~TRUE~
~TRUE~
~FALSE~
~~
~$TARGETWEBSITEINDEX$~
Where $TARGETWEBSITEINDEX$ is the target web site index.
Any ideas how to achieve this?
Regards,
T.

Dear Tzachk,
Please excuse me, but I'm not quite sure what you really mean with;
"I'm able to generate Appllication Pools entries for both, but for some reason can't convert them to applications"

Re: IIS 7 Convert to application question
Hi Francesco,
I'm using the IIS 7 lingo for Convert. IIS menu uses "Convert to Application" tp perform the operation of swicthing a virtual folder to application.
The directory tree should like this:
- Manage
- UIMain (Application)
- UIWebService (Application)
Regards,
Tzach.

Re: IIS 7 Convert to application question
Dear Tzach,
If you have a look at the "ISS website & Folder" sample you should be able to do exactly that.
With "Create IIS Virtual Folder" command you can specify the path of the virtual folder as it will appear underneath the IIS website (Virtual Path parameter).
Then with the "Create or Use Pool" command parameter, you can enter the name of the Application pool to be created (Unless Do Not Create Application is specified in the Application Protection field).
Hope this helps you.
Regards.
