InstallAware Contractor Needed

Postby Ohmylord » Wed Jan 23, 2013 10:38 am

We are looking to hire an experienced InstallAware contractor to help us finish a product install. We recently purchased InstallAware Studio 15 but don't have the internal resources to finish the project. The new install is partially completed, and we also have an old Wise script from a previous version.

I searched this forum and some of the freelance contractor boards but really couldn't find anyone who specialized in InstallAware. Please let me know if any of you do contract work, or know where we could find a contractor.

Thanks,

Pete

Peter,

If you click on the Consulting Services option on InstallAware's home page you can enter some details which somebody who works for them might be able to advise on.

If you're in the UK, I'd be happy to help but either way, I'd rather let somebody "official" handle the first-round of your enquiry.

Thanks for the info. We have an inquiry in with InstallAware to get a bid, but we would certainly entertain working with a independent contractor. We are located in the US but I doubt that matters much for what we are trying to accomplish. We are guessing that an experienced InstallAware programmer could finish what we've started in less than a day. We are just too busy, and new at this to tackle a few issues we've run into in a timely matter.

If you don't resolve getting somebody sourced via InstallAware by all means let me know. If your installation requirements aren't too overly complicated and fiddly I'll be happy to put something together for you without charge. In other words, if we're talking about just installing some files, creating a desktop icon, the sort of things you could do very quickly I'd be quite okay to do that for free. Obviously, if you need some kind of custom UI interaction or other things that require some external data discovery or anything that must take system administration into account like group policies, IIS and so on then that naturally requires more than a small tin of basic soup, if you get my meaning?

Look forward to reading how things pan out on your initial request to InstallAware. :)

bokkie, thanks for the insight and offer. We haven't gotten a bid yet but are anxiously waiting. I'm really not sure where ours falls in terms of simplicity. We don't use group policies or IIS. If you want to take a look I could send you the InstallAware project we started and the Wise script we used for previous versions. I was going to send you a private message with my email but didn't see any private message option on this board.

Thanks, Pete

Pete, I think the PMs used to work but were disabled a long time ago for some reason.

The only caveat from my side is that I've never used Wise but IA does have a Wise converter template which might score a home run but I've never used it. PMs would have been nice but if you want to send what you have I could eyeball it and see if a quick conversion to IA is do-able.

My email address: hamiltonHYPHENscott AT blueyonder FULLSTOP co FULLSTOP uk

Replace:
HYPHEN with -
AT with @
FULLSTOP with .

And we'll take it from there.
