Change Product name without loosing translations

Postby mikKummerfeld » Wed Feb 06, 2013 12:57 pm

Hello Guys,

how can I easily change my product name without loosing all my translations? When I change, then the language selection is gone and I cant use my last translations, because
IA says it is not the correct product. We renamed our product so I need to rename the setup product name. But I have about 2000 Strings and I dont want to re-translate everything.

thx
Kind regards

Dear Heiko,

Do you use a third part tool for translation or the IA Translator tool?

TransManager Pro, because your internal translator is very bad and there is no further development

Dear Heiko,

It is my personal opinion that our Translator tool does exactly what it was designed for.

You can say that it can be simple, but "very bad" for me it has a very different meaning.
it is like to say that a bicycle is "vary bad" because exist the motorbike.

Anyway to return back to your specific question, the third party tool you are using allows to keep the already translated strings.
There isn't any problem to share all the strings that you have already translated over different projects.
I say this because I use exactly the same tool.

However, because I suppose your problem is related with the way you are using the tool and not with IA, I suggest you to contact the software vendor directly for a more accurate and specific help on the matter.
