Mysterious project compiler variables

Postby MikeZabel » Fri Mar 01, 2013 12:47 am

Hello,

For some reason, my InstallAware project has a bunch of project compiler variables defined on it as follows:

------------------------------------------------------------
INSTALLAWARE_DRM_LAUNCHES=FALSE
INSTALLAWARE_DRM_DAYSRELATIVE=TRUE
INSTALLAWARE_DRM_DAYSABSOLUTE=FALSE
INSTALLAWARE_DRM_DAYS=FALSE
INSTALLAWARE_DRM_YEAR=2011
INSTALLAWARE_DRM_MONTH=11
INSTALLAWARE_DRM_DAY=8
INSTALLAWARE_DRM_EXPIREUSAGE=FALSE
INSTALLAWARE_DRM_EXPIREFIXED=FALSE
BUILDMODE=CD
LANGUAGE=English
TARGETDIR=$TARGETDIR$
IAVER=13.00
LANGUAGE=English
TITLE=MyProject
IADIR=C:\PROGRA~1\INSTAL~2\INSTAL~1
PROJDIR=C:\Users\Mike\Desktop\NEWFOL~1\APPINS~2
------------------------------------------------------------

These project compiler variables can bee seen by opening the "Project Options" dialog box and selecting "Compiler Variables" under the "Project" node.

I was wondering if someone could tell me how they got in there (I did't put them in) and if it is safe to delete them (all of them).

By the way, I created a new .Net InstallAware project and noticed that the project did not contained any project compiler variables.

Thanks.

Dear User,

Some of those compiler variables you found with your project, are added by IA automatically when you interact with "Trialware and DRM" project settings page (... INSTALLAWARE_DRM_XXXXXX). These particular compiler variables can be deleted if you are not using "Trialware and DRM" option with your project.

Regarding the other compiler variables you found, I suppose your project has been originally created with an older IA version and these have been left with it. Unless you want to explicity use these setting, you can delete them.
