general \"self-healing\" question

Postby stampy » Thu Jun 29, 2006 1:16 pm

Hi,

Can you give me a general idea about the self-healing properties available to an InstallAware-based application? Are there any kinds of events that would trigger some kind of automatic response on such an application? (e.g. I believe broken shortcuts can get self-healed). I’ve seen “self healing” kick in from time to time on some of my other MSI based apps. Is that more a function of the version of MSI installed on the target pc?

Thanks in advance!

This happens when you use advertised shortcuts and file types. Note that advertising breaks some of the conditional scripting logic, but you are free to use it if you want self-repair.
