Installaware - Multi vs. X16

Postby bjorn.l » Tue Dec 19, 2023 4:31 am

Dear Team of IA,
maybe I am completely blind..

As per the promotion to upgrade it states: "Choose any single platform edition of InstallAware Multi"

Is Multi for single platform the new X16?

Glad to hear.

Regards
Björn

I am sure this has more to do with our communication skills than your visual acuity.

InstallAware for Windows Installer, at version X16, internal compiler version number 33.x, is our Windows-only product - with all the benefits (and drawbacks) that entails.

InstallAware Multi Platform, now launching at version 1.0, internal compiler version number 1.0, is our cross-platform product - with native code IDEs, toolchains, setup engines, etc. for Linux, macOS, and Windows.

InstallAware Multi Platform is capable of loading InstallAware for Windows Installer projects directly, preserving all your script, dialogs, localizations, etc. - and even, intelligently updating command parameters to cross-platform, single-source multiple-build-target standards.

InstallAware Multi Platform typically includes Linux, macOS, and Windows IDEs, setup engines, native toolchains, etc. However as part of the 1.0 launch special this week, we are also making it possible for you to order it for only the platforms you desire, at a proportional reduction in cost. So Linux-only or macOS-only gets you 2/3rds off the (already discounted launch) price, for instance. You could also get both Linux and macOS, for instance, for 1/3rd off.
