Hi there,
I'm busy evaluating InstallAware as an installation building solution for my company and I've come across something which is a) puzzling and b) very frustrating.
I started with a default project and have modified the registration dialog to take a username and a password, opposed to a user's name and his organization. The problem is as follows: No matter what I do, the registration dialog is still filling the first textbox with the user's name, instead of leaving it blank. I have done the following: I opened the properties for the textbox and set the "Receives Information" drop-down to "None".
This did not work.
I resorted to removing the textbox entirely and adding a new textbox with a different name, and the value IS STILL PLACED IN THE TEXTBOX. I have been through each line of the MSICode as well, and there are no script calls to set that textbox's value either.
Can anyone suggest how I can fix this?

Hi Paul,
As Michael suggested, you may not be clicking the Save button in the toolbar before closing the dialog.
One thing I do when modifying the dialogs is to make a copy of the standard dialog using the "Save As" option from the menu and then name that dialog with my company name as the prefix. This is just a safe messure I take in case I need to go back to the original dialog file for whatever reason.

Considering the fact that I explained that the only problem experienced now is the fact that the dialog always has a textbox populated with a default value (which I did not configure it to do), and I explicitly said that I had made major changes to the dialog layout, I would think it's pretty clear that I know what the "Save" button does.
However, the "right place" conditional intrigues me. Doesn't InstallAware Studio automatically save the file in the "right place"? And if not, what is considered to be the "right place"?

Okay, so I've saved the offending dialog in the project folder and replaced it's reference in the MSI script and throughout the project as instructed... however, the textbox is still being populated with a value I did not set it to.
The screenshot for the textbox object editor is below:

As you can see the "Receives Information" option is set to "<none>", but when the installer is run, the box is populated with the value for the option "Workstation User".
How can I fix this?
