Skip installing this file if it already exists

Post by get101 »

During installation, how can I tell IA7 to not overwrite a file if it already exists in the destination folder?

You can use "Check File" command, to check if the file exists, before executing the "Install File" command.

Hi,

I am new to IA :) and I am in the process of evaluating IA11.

I can't find the Check file command in the MSICode list of commands, does it still exist? What I want to do is only display a dialog if a file does not already exist on the computer (i.e. only show the dialog for new installs and not upgrades).

Thanks in advance.

Hey Jamie,

Please use the Does File/Folder Exist command instead.
