Persist ini entries

Post by steveosmith »

I have an install that writes to an ini file. Upon uninstall those entries are getting removed. How do I prevent the ini entries from being removed upon uninstall?
Thanks,
Steve.

I'm using the Edit INI File command with the Line->Create or Update action.

As you can see in the MSI script, the "Edit INI File" command is in a maroon color. This means, it is a Windows Installer command. This also means that the command will be undone when uninstalling the product. If you want the INI entries to persist, I would recommend you to use "Write to Text File" command instead.
