You miss the wildcard:
DELETE FILES $TARGETDIR$\\*

Sorry, but it doesn't work. The hole diretory that is defined as $TARGETDIR$ won't be deleted.

Try to do this, i think this will definately help u ...
Recursively Delete Files $TARGETDIR$\\*
