We have created an installer for our product (version 3.2.10) and after a few weeks of work we have released version 3.2.11. The installer from the latter has a new product code. If I install the 3.2.10 MSI version and try to install the 3.2.11 version next to it, the installer complains it want to have the MSI source of the 3.2.10.
Why does this new installer want the MSI of the 'old' installer ? How can we prevent this new installer for asking the MSI of the previous installation ?
Installer needs MSI from other installer
We have the exact same problem.
Setup is a bit different:
1) I have 3 installers each with a different product code. All 3 product are installed using the installer.
2) Created a new version of all three (same product codes, different rev) code.
3) Run the installer of one of the newly build. Installer installs fine, it unistalls previous version and installs new version. But on the end it requires the msi of one of the other installed products. Very strange?
We are using the latest version of Installaware (on vista).
I have the same question, how can we prevent this?
regards
John
