I'm trying to create my own script. What DOES it mean when you try to select a script and the above error message box pops up.
Thanks.
\"Attempt to render non-referenced line\"?
Attempt to render non-referenced line
I am getting this error always when I try to create a package. Please let me know why it is coming and how to resolve it.
I am also getting this error when attempting to open a project:
"Attempt to render non-referenced line!"
Problem occurs in a project started by converting a Wise .wse file. After cleaning it up a bit I saved and closed the IA project, but now can not open it.
Based on the earlier messages, I consider this to be a recurring KILLER problem! Is there any way to recover? Is convertability from Wise a hoax?
Please give us some help!

It would appear that your attempt to convert a script failed. This shouldn't happen, but your script probably has a statement (or combinations thereof) which we did not test and which result in this problem.
Did you try both of the Wise import tools?

Yes, I tried both Wise import tools. Each creates a different part of the complete setup--the results were like yin and yang. What I was attempting to do was to put yin and yang together to get a complete setup.
One possibility is that the problem resulted from my attempt to replace all instances of a variable name using Replace All. This happened days ago, but what I now remember:
After doing the Replace All there was a bug in a line. Replace All had replaced text that was part of the internal instruction code not visible in your script editor! I manually changed it back using a text editor and the instruction compiled properly.
Allowing Replace All to change text not visible to the user is one potential problem and possibly the root cause of the problem described by this thread, but is not the same problem.
The problem we have: file fails to open even though it seemed to be OK when saved and closed.
Is there any way to recover once this happens?

It would seem that you have run into a bug in the script editor, or one of the Wise import tools. If a script becomes corrupt, you can try copy-paste to recover parts of it while it is still in the editor. You can also use .BAK files created on each save to revert to the previous file version. Finally, Replace All does scan MSIcode function content in addition to what is displayed in the abbreviated script form, this is intentional as you may want to search and replace for not just plain text as seen in the script editor, but the actual content of your functions.
