Localization of license.txt

Post by John Blattner »

I'm a prospective user looking to convert from Wise.

What I'm trying to do is support the posting of an alternative EULA in the licensecheck dialog, depending on local.

I have specified two Support Files:
license.txt
license.Japanese.txt
but have not been able to get the license.Japanese.txt to appear.

I am trying to use my own logic in the MSIcode script to determine which language is applied. Under certain circumstances, I set the variable LANGUAGE to Japanese. For testing purposes. I have set up the script so that the variable LANGUAGE is always set to Japanese.

But nothing so far has caused license.Japanese.txt to appear.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Did you add license.Japanese.txt to your project as a support file? Also, try renaming your license to license.JAPANESE.txt. This might help.

I did add license.Japanese.txt as a support file, just as license.txt is (which is recognized and automatically loaded).

Currently, I am setting the LANGUAGE variable to Japanese. Should it be set to JAPANESE?

Thx.

No. You don't have to set the LANGUAGE to JAPANESE. I currently have my installer set up for English and Spanish installations. I have the "Display language selection dialog" checkbox selected. When I run my installer and select Spanish, my localized license appears. The file is named license.SPANISH.txt.

Try using the language selection dialog and make sure that the LANGUAGE variable is properly set during the installation, which you can do by displaying it in a MessageBox. Another thing, try renaming your regular license to license.ENGLISH.txt
