Required Feature

Is there a way of defining a feature as mandatory (always install) ?
I have a case where the installer contains one required feature and a few optional ones. How do I define a feature as mandatory?

place the optional features inside an if statement that checks whether or not the feature is selected. Place the always required files outside of thos if statements.

Another possibility is to make required files not features, but part of OFFLINE.
