I must be doing something wrong. Basically, I have created a blank install that will use the Serial Number Generator MSIScript to generate and return the resulting license key based upon the UserName and CompanyName passed to it via command line parameters.
I am going to use this EXE in a VB.Net project to generate and record license keys in a SQL database and provide a front-end that will be easier for the user to use.
If I compile the install as an uncompiled EXE, either using the Uncompressed Directory Layout or using the Compressed Single Self-Instaling EXE option or Web-Based EXE option the with the Debug Build option selected, the resulting EXE works fine. However, if I use the Single File or Web EXE options and compile the install as a compressed, single file, it does not recognize the command line parameters, nor does it genrerate any of the error messages or output files that I have requested.
Am I missing something?
