Cannot Install or Uninstall

Hi,

We've got one instance of our software who refuse to install or uninstall. We can see our binaries, shortcuts (including the uninstall) on the client, entry under the Add/Remove programs. The current windows user have administrative rights, and have tried successfully rename one of the binary (not a rights issue). Everytime we tries to run the uninstall, it seems to think that it's not installed and attempts to install it. It'll fail and just bail out with nothing to suggest why in the log. We've tried installing overtop of it with a CD, still the same result.

This is only happening on one machine so far, all the others are fine.

Any idea?

Have tried cleaning the registry - there may be some hanging registry values caused by unsuccessful installs/uninstalls
The temp data folder may also be a culprit.

Try a registry cleaning tool i.e regfixer, ccleaner

What type of install did you do web, uncompressed, single exe?

It's a single file, running InstallAware Studio 8. We're also compressing the single file into a self extracting exe just to make it fit a CD.

As I've said, it seems to be fine for all other instances except for one.
