In my package (a dev component), I ship 3 builds of a dll supporting
XP x86
Vista x86
Vista x64
All 3 dlls are copied into sub folders in the target folder in program files.
I also need to copy 1 of the dlls into the Windows System folder. For example, on an XP x86 system, I need to copy the appropriate dll into System32 folder.
I'm a complete novice at Installaware - how do I do this?
I have version 7 studio admin.

You can get some data from the operation system with:
Get System Setting Windows XP into a
Get System Setting VISTA into b
But if i read it correctly, it returns true when anything above the requirement is met. So be careful
Then:
Get System Setting Windows XP into a
Get System Setting VISTA into b

Then:
Code: Select all
if a equals true
Install Files x.dll to $location$
else
if b equals true
Install Files y.dll to $location2$
else
Install Files z.dll to $location3$
end
end

Yes, that's a good question. Never done it myself(pretty new to IA as well) so take this as speculation:
When you look at the info to [get system settings], it lists [processor architecture capability] with X86 and IA64 as well as AMD64.
There is also the [Get OS or SP Level] command.
I would try those, though i'm not sure it would work.
You can also always contact IA support with their ticket system. (Homepage->support->submit a ticket).
