We have a patch install that is roughly 80MB in size.
While its running on a Virtual PC, it generates several temp files and folders.
Folders under local temp data:
- mia1
- mia2
- mia57.tmp
In the mia57.tmp folder it creates a *.msp file that is 739MB in size.
This file size is roughly equivalent to the footprint of a full install of our application. For the record, the full installer is roughly 185MB.
Altogether, the patch install requires over 3.5GB of free disk space on a Virtual PC to install.
Why does the patch install use so much disk space?
When we run the same patch install / full install combination on a regular (non-virtual) machine, these space problems do not seem to occur.
Why does this problem only seem to occur on virtual pcs?
